
A Friday night inside a Davison home ended in deadly gunfire when a 34-year-old Lansing man was shot and killed, and police say they are now searching for a Detroit man suspected in the slaying. Officers were called to the 400 block of South Dayton Street, where they found the victim, later identified as Carl Martell Calhoun, with at least one gunshot wound. Calhoun was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators say the suspected shooter took off in a burgundy Dodge conversion-style van that should be considered linked to an armed and dangerous suspect.
According to CBS News, officers responded to the South Dayton home at about 6:34 p.m. and found Calhoun inside. Investigators told the outlet there was a disturbance between two men that escalated into a physical fight, then gunfire. CBS reports Calhoun was pronounced dead at the scene while detectives began processing the residence for evidence.
Suspect Description and Vehicle
Davison police have identified the man they are looking for as Nakia Tyrese Taylor of Detroit. He is described as about 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, according to WNEM. Authorities say Taylor left the scene in a burgundy Dodge conversion-style van with Michigan plate FAB5598. Officers warn he should be treated as armed and dangerous, and anyone who spots Taylor or the van is urged not to approach, instead calling police immediately.

Multiple agencies converged on the neighborhood to support Davison officers, including the Davison Township Police, the Richfield Township Police, the Michigan State Police, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, and the MSP Bridgeport Crime Laboratory, WILX reports.
