Suffolk County police say a Sunday massage at a Selden spa ended in an arrest after a 27-year-old client reported that the employee forcibly touched her during the session. Investigators say the woman walked out of the treatment room, got in her car and drove straight to the Sixth Precinct in Selden to report the alleged incident.
Arrest and charges
Sixth Squad detectives arrested Li‑Yong He, 52, of Levittown, and charged him with forcible touching and Unauthorized Practice of a Profession, according to TBR News Media. Police said He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday at the First District Court in Central Islip. Detectives asked anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may also be a victim, to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
How the victim reported it
The alleged groping occurred at W Foot Relaxing Spa at 1070 Middle Country Road at about 12:50 p.m., according to local reports. The woman told officers she demanded the employee leave the room before driving to the Sixth Precinct to file her complaint, as reported by News 12 | Bronx.
Local enforcement on Middle Country Road
The arrest comes amid a broader crackdown on unlicensed massage businesses along the Middle Country Road corridor, where police have carried out raids and made arrests in recent years. Local reporting and Suffolk County Police press releases describe multiple enforcement actions on the corridor, with unauthorized-practice charges filed in several cases; see Suffolk County Police releases for earlier examples.
What the charges mean
Under New York law forcible touching, which the statute notes can include squeezing, grabbing or pinching, is a Class A misdemeanor. Unauthorized Practice of a Profession is charged under the state's education law and can be prosecuted as a Class E felony under state statute; see New York Penal Law §130.52 and New York Education Law for the statutory language.
