Levant BBQ is gearing up to bring its Mediterranean-inflected barbecue to Sugar Land, quietly lining up a second location in Town Square. The Houston-born smokehouse, which opened less than two years ago, has filed construction paperwork to take over the former Bellagreen space and is estimating that renovation work could wrap up sometime in mid-to-late 2026. The owners have not publicly announced the new storefront or committed to an exact opening date.
Permit Shows Town Square Address and Timeline
According to the Houston Chronicle, Levant filed a permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to move into 15903 City Walk in Sugar Land Town Square. The filing pegs the renovation budget at an estimated $100,000 and outlines a construction window running from June through September 2026. The Chronicle also notes that the site sits roughly a 30-minute drive from Levant’s flagship on Westheimer.
Levant's Menu and Houston Roots
Per Levant BBQ, the original location at 5884 Westheimer Road pairs classic smoked meats with Levantine flavors, serving items such as brisket shawarma, quinoa cowboy caviar and a sauce built around pomegranate molasses. The restaurant highlights halal-smoked meats and sides that lean into Mediterranean staples alongside familiar Texas barbecue offerings. Those menu choices are central to the brand’s identity as it pushes into new neighborhoods.
Expansion Push Reaches North Texas and Suburbs
Levant has already signaled that its ambitions stretch beyond the Galleria area, and Community Impact reported in September that the owners were preparing a Frisco location at 3211 Preston Road with an early-2026 target. The Sugar Land permit fits a pattern of moving into suburban town centers instead of focusing only on downtown or uptown addresses. For nearby diners, that could translate into easier access to Levant’s smoked lamb and shawarmas without making the drive to the Galleria area.
The Sugar Land space has not appeared on Levant’s website, and the Houston Chronicle reports that it has reached out to the owners for comment. Until the team confirms its plans, both the construction timeline and cost estimate remain subject to change. If renovations stay on track, Sugar Land customers could see the new spot open sometime in mid-to-late 2026. This story will be updated as Levant announces more details or files additional permits.
