If your workday breakfast usually means a granola bar at your desk, relief is on the way. Soni Cafe, a new cafeteria-style spot, is slated to open this May in Tampa's Westshore business district with a lineup built around breakfast, lunch and a different hot special every day. The roughly 3,000-square-foot cafe will sit inside Corporate Center II at International Plaza, aiming squarely at the office crowd with plenty of booth seating and an Italian-style espresso program.
Owner Elton told What Now that the plan is to run "a breakfast where everything is made from scratch." For lunch, he said to expect sandwiches stacked with Boar's Head cold cuts and daily rotating hot plates, with examples like chicken parm, taco salad and enchiladas.
Where It Will Be
Soni Cafe is set to occupy suite 130 at 4211 W Boy Scout Blvd inside Corporate Center II, a business cluster next to International Plaza and Bay Street. The 4211 address shows up in local building and directory listings, and the location sits across from sit-down spots such as Kona Grill, Texas de Brazil and Cooper's Hawk, according to EVStationsLocal and TripAdvisor.
Menu And Coffee
Elton says the cafe's coffee setup will center on an Italian-style espresso program, backing up those scratch-made breakfasts. What Now reports that Soni Cafe will span about 3,000 square feet, and Elton, who already operates two other local cafes, is targeting a May opening.
Who It's For
With a cafeteria layout and booth seating, Soni Cafe looks tailored to office workers and nearby shoppers who want a quick sit-down breakfast or a grab-and-go lunch close to International Plaza. The Westshore and International Plaza area is packed with retail and dining options and is described as a hub for daytime traffic and new restaurant activity, according to Tampa Unlocked.
Soni Cafe is expected to open in May, although the owner has not announced a firm date yet. Details on hours and a grand-opening plan are set to follow once that date is locked in.
