They also seized $73,968 in cash along with an estimated $200,000 in high-end jewelry, for a total of about $274,000 in confiscated assets, according to reporting by MLive. K-9 units assisted in evidence searches at several locations, helping officers track down drugs and other items tucked out of sight.
How The Multi-County Sweep Came Together
The operation was led by the Livingston and Washtenaw Counties Narcotics Enforcement Team and pulled in a long list of county, regional and federal partners, including local SWAT units. Multijurisdictional narcotics task forces combine state, county, local and federal officers to target trafficking that jumps across county lines, according to the Michigan State Police. Agencies identified as participants included Monroe-area narcotics teams, the MSP Emergency Support Team, Downriver SWAT, the ATF, the DEA and the Sterling Heights Police Department.
