Apple looks ready to bulk up its South Lake Union footprint again, with industry sources saying the company is close to locking in a new lease at Arbor Blocks East. The move would plant the tech giant right next door to the Arbor Blocks building it moved into last year, further cementing its hold on one of Seattle’s busiest tech corridors.
According to Puget Sound Business Journal, Apple is in talks to lease office space at Arbor Blocks East at 300 Eighth Ave. N. The report, citing industry sources, says the deal is nearing completion, though specific lease terms and square footage have not been disclosed and negotiations are still underway.
King County property records list 300 Eighth Ave. N. as part of the Arbor Blocks complex, located across 8th Avenue from 333 Eighth Ave. N. A commercial listing on LoopNet also identifies 300 Eighth Ave. N. as Arbor Blocks East. The two buildings sit side by side in the heart of South Lake Union.
What It Would Mean For South Lake Union
If Apple signs for the East building, it would mark another major vote of confidence in downtown office demand at a time when leasing activity has been choppy. Colliers reported that Apple’s nearly 193,000-square-foot lease at Arbor Blocks West was the largest new lease in Seattle since 2019, a deal that market watchers say helped shift momentum. Recent big leases have been framed as selective but meaningful signs that large tenants will still commit when the right space hits the market.
County records list Ponte Gadea as the owner of the Arbor Blocks buildings. The Puget Sound Business Journal report notes that neither Apple nor the landlord provided public comment and that no formal lease filing has yet appeared in county records.
Background: Apple’s Seattle Expansion
Apple’s latest South Lake Union moves follow a broader push back into Seattle office space. Earlier in 2025, GeekWire and market reports detailed the company’s roughly 193,000-square-foot lease at Arbor Blocks West (333 Eighth Ave. N.), a space previously used by Meta. That West-building deal was framed as one of the largest local office commitments since before the pandemic.
For now, the Puget Sound Business Journal report is the clearest public signal that another big tech lease could be headed for South Lake Union. Unless and until a signed lease or county filing surfaces, details will stay limited. We will continue to monitor county filings and local reporting and provide updates as official notices or lease records become available.
