Turquoise Wine Bar, a woman-owned boutique chain that got its start in Arizona, is headed for Cypress's Blackhorse Ranch with a new location slated to open this summer. The franchise owners say the spot will lean into tasting flights, bottles to go, light plates and a steady lineup of live entertainment. Buildout is already underway on House Hahl Road as the brand makes its move into Texas.

Local outlets report that franchisee couple Tara and Neil Cruz are steering the Cypress project and are eyeing an August opening, according to What Now. In an interview with Community Impact, Tara Cruz said the goal is “a place that takes wine seriously without taking itself too seriously.” What Now also pins the buildout at 16518 House Hahl Road.

What to expect inside

Turquoise positions itself as an approachable tasting room that highlights small-lot, sustainably produced wines, with guided education through rotating flights and events. Menus show tasting flights named after gems, alongside sangrias, spritzes and shareable plates, according to Turquoise.

Where it will sit

The Cypress address Turquoise lists is already familiar to some locals. The same 16518 House Hahl Road location is used by neighborhood wine bar The Hidden Cellar, which posts that address along with hours and event listings, signaling an active community spot, per The Hidden Cellar.

A franchised Texas push

Turquoise has been rolling out a franchised footprint beyond Arizona, with local pages for Round Rock, The Woodlands and Cypress on its site and a franchise program that spells out fees, training and support, according to Turquoise. The concept was launched by Jen Sinconis and Laura Hernandez as a woman-owned brand centered on small-lot wines and community-focused programming, according to a profile of the founders.

Local wine fans will want to keep an eye out for grand-opening details as construction moves along. Community Impact lists August as the target month for the Cypress debut, and the brand says it will share firm dates and event plans on Turquoise's website and social channels as they are finalized.
