CBS LA is suiting up with the Los Angeles Rams again, announcing Thursday a new multi-year television partnership that restores the station as the team's official hometown partner. The deal locks in exclusive local preseason telecasts, a coaches show with head coach Sean McVay, and a full slate of year-round programming aimed at giving Angelenos more wall-to-wall Rams coverage.
The agreement includes exclusive local broadcasts of Rams preseason games, weekly year-round programming, a coaches show featuring Sean McVay, and original Rams content across CBS LA platforms. "With nearly 90 hours of news and sports programming every week," Tim Wieland, regional president and general manager of CBS LA, said, the partnership is meant to bring more Rams coverage and extend the station's community work in Southern California. The announcement framed CBS LA as reclaiming the mantle of the "Home of the Rams," according to CBS LA.
Rams president Kevin Demoff welcomed the renewed collaboration, noting the club first partnered with CBS when it returned to Los Angeles in 2016. "CBS LA partnered with us in 2016 when we returned to Los Angeles and helped reintroduce our organization to this city," Demoff said, according to the Los Angeles Rams. The team also said the pact will support joint, year-round community initiatives across Southern California.
What Fans Will See
On the programming side, fans can expect Rams preseason telecasts on CBS LA, along with a coaches show that could feature weekly interviews, game breakdowns, and behind-the-scenes features with McVay and company. Original team content is also set to roll out on the station's digital platforms, opening the door for streaming and on-demand clips between games. Neither announcement included a full broadcast schedule or financial terms, so specific air dates and on-air talent are still under wraps.
Why It Matters Locally
Preseason rights and team-produced shows are prime pieces of local media real estate because they keep viewers tuned in during the offseason and create extra advertising inventory for broadcasters. For CBS LA, the new pact deepens its local sports footprint. For the Rams, it offers another controlled platform to highlight games, community work, and ticket initiatives. While national regular-season rights are still governed by the NFL's network deals, this partnership focuses on local reach and year-round storytelling for Southern California audiences.
Both the station and the club are expected to roll out programming dates, talent lineups, and other details before training camp and the preseason kickoff. We will update as CBS LA and the Rams release the first full broadcast schedule and coaches' show lineup.
