A Columbia couple has quietly turned a long-vacant former bank in Hickory Ridge Village Center into Roco Kitchen + Coffee, a breakfast-focused restaurant and neighborhood coffee shop that is already drawing early buzz from nearby residents. The space now offers cafe seating, a compact patio and a menu that leans hard into coffee and morning fare.

According to the Howard County ABHB, SRC Hospitality Holdings LLC, trading as Roco Kitchen + Coffee, received approval for a 7-day on/off sale Class B license on Dec. 9, 2025. The application lists Bradley M. Canfield and Samantha L. Rocco-Canfield as the applicants and describes the space as roughly 2,400 square feet with a 625-square-foot exterior area.

From Bank Vault To Breakfast Tacos

The couple took over a former bank branch and ripped out the old vault to make way for the kitchen and dining area, as reported by the Baltimore Business Journal. What used to be a place to stash cash now serves breakfast tacos, handmade doughnuts and espresso drinks, according to the restaurant's online ordering page on Toast, underscoring its breakfast-forward daytime focus.

Neighbors And The Village Center

The Hickory Ridge Village Association's March meeting notes that "friends and neighbors are excited" about the new coffee shop and that board members have already stopped in, per the Hickory Ridge Village Association. Roco Kitchen + Coffee is listed as occupying Space 19 in the center, according to Kimco Realty.

Soft opening activity and daytime service appear to be underway, with online ordering already live on Toast. The Baltimore Business Journal first reported the debut.
