Wednesday afternoon was anything but quiet near Huffmeister Road, where Harris County deputies, K-9 teams and Texas DPS air support swept the area after a reported vehicle theft, tightening a perimeter around Skinner Road. One person was taken into custody at the scene while deputies kept searching for a second suspect who managed to slip away.
The operation grew large enough that Harris County Precinct 4 officials publicly urged nearby residents to steer clear of the area while officers worked, and to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity while the police presence continued.
According to a post by Harris County Constable Precinct 4 on Facebook, constable deputies were assisting the Houston Police Department and had brought in K-9 units and DPS air support to search the 17500 block of Huffmeister Road near Skinner Road. The post confirmed that one suspect was already in custody and described the outstanding suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a gray shirt and black shorts. Officials also encouraged residents to stay vigilant and to follow the office’s Facebook and Instagram feeds or the "C4 NOW" mobile app for real-time updates.
How deputies conducted the search
Precinct 4 often pairs canine teams with aerial support when suspects bolt on foot, a strategy the agency has highlighted in several recent cases. As covered by FOX26, deputies have used tools like drones, K-9s and DPS air units to track and detain fleeing suspects across northwest Harris County.
