
Gunfire broke out on Cranston Avenue in Southwest Baltimore on Monday afternoon, sending two men to the hospital and kicking off another shooting investigation for city detectives.
Police say the incident unfolded in the 4100 block of Cranston Avenue, where officers responded and secured the scene while investigators began sorting out what happened. Both victims were hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition as detectives followed up at area hospitals.
According to Fox45 Baltimore, officers were called to the block around 3:52 p.m. and found a 65-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. A short time later, police said, a 35-year-old man walked into another hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. Investigators later determined he had also been shot on the same Cranston Avenue block.
Investigators Seek Tips
Southwest District shooting detectives are handling the case and are asking anyone with information to call them at 410-396-2488, according to a Baltimore Police media advisory. No suspect descriptions have been released, and the investigation remains active.
This latest Cranston Avenue shooting adds to a tense stretch for the Southwest District that has already included an early-May apartment killing and a police-involved shooting on Wilkens Avenue. Police advisories and local reporting show investigators repeatedly turning to the public for help as they try to slow the pace of gun violence in the neighborhood.
