The patrol’s Crawford County report flags speed, failure to yield, and youth-related driving errors as common contributing factors on local roads, a reminder of how fast a routine trip can escalate into a serious emergency.
Investigation And Scene Updates

What Drivers Should Know
The Ohio State Highway Patrol stresses in its county safety materials that unsafe speed and failure to yield are frequent factors in serious crashes, and it promotes tools such as the RoadReady Ohio app to help new drivers build safer habits. Following a major collision on U.S. 30, drivers should be ready for delays and are urged to slow down, move over when possible, and give emergency crews ample space to work along the shoulder or median.
