Klein High School head football coach Nick Codutti has been sidelined from campus while authorities investigate misconduct allegations that reportedly trace back to his time in another school district. Families were told this week that school leaders will share more information as the situation unfolds.
What officials are saying
According to Click2Houston, Tomball ISD notified families and staff in a letter that it was "recently notified by law enforcement" about misconduct allegations involving Codutti, calling the matter "difficult and deeply concerning." The district said it is cooperating with law enforcement and noted that no complaints, concerns, or reports were made about Codutti during his time working for Tomball ISD.
Klein ISD steps in
Klein High Principal Shannon Strole told families in a separate message that the district has asked Codutti to "step away from campus" while the investigation plays out and emphasized that "none of the allegations appear to involve Klein High School students or staff," per Click2Houston. The school’s athletic department has not released details on how long Codutti will be away or how the football program will be covered in the meantime.
Coach's background
Codutti was hired at Klein in 2025 after four seasons as head coach at Fulshear High School, where he turned the program into a steady playoff contender, according to the Houston Chronicle and regional coaching records and profiles. Before taking over at Fulshear, he worked on the staff at Tomball High, serving as offensive coordinator and as strength and recruiting coordinator from 2017-2021, those records show.
What comes next
Both Klein ISD and Tomball ISD say they are cooperating with law enforcement but have not identified which agency is handling the investigation or shared further details about the allegations. Klein parents have been told the school will provide updates as appropriate. No criminal charges have been announced, and district officials say they are following standard procedures intended to protect student safety while the inquiry continues.
