A 28-year-old Largo hospital worker is behind bars after police say he sexually battered vulnerable patients while on duty at a local medical facility. The suspect, Se’Jour Deangelo Fulks, is charged with three counts of sexual battery involving two vulnerable adults and remains in custody as the case works its way through the legal system.

Largo police say the arrest followed a department investigation that developed probable cause the assaults happened on multiple occasions while Fulks was on staff. According to the Tampa Free Press, Fulks was arrested on May 12 and faces three counts tied to two patients, and detectives have asked anyone with information to reach out to the lead investigator.

Where Investigators Say It Happened

Police say the alleged incidents took place at HCA Florida Largo West Hospital’s Indian Rocks Road campus. HCA Florida lists the West campus at 2025 Indian Rocks Rd, where the system runs emergency services along with behavioral health care.

Legal Context For Vulnerable Patients

Under Florida law, people who qualify as elderly or disabled are protected by Florida Statutes, Chapter 825, which defines “vulnerable adult” and lays out penalties for abuse and sexual offenses in caregiving settings. The statute is available from the Florida Legislature. Suspected abuse of a vulnerable adult must be reported immediately, and the state’s central abuse hotline is 1-800-96-ABUSE (1-800-962-2873). Reports can also be filed online through the Florida Abuse Hotline.

Detectives Ask For Help

Largo detectives say they are now looking into whether there are additional victims or witnesses and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Records reviewed by the Tampa Free Press indicate Fulks worked at the hospital for about five months beginning in January. Police asked that tips be sent to Detective Amanda Gay at [email protected].

What Comes Next

Fulks remains in custody and will continue through the local court process while investigators and prosecutors review the case. The Largo Police Department says the investigation is active, and detectives plan to keep pursuing leads as more information surfaces.
