Mount Pleasant neighbors are being formally alerted that convicted sex offender Victor Little, 39, will soon be back in the community, although under tight supervision and for a limited time.
According to local police, Little is scheduled for release and temporary placement at a residence on Prairie Drive near Washington Avenue. He is expected to be at that address from next Tuesday, May 26, through Wednesday, June 3, while remaining under Department of Corrections supervision that includes electronic GPS monitoring.
Police stressed that Little is required to follow all sex offender registration rules. If he fails to comply, he could be arrested. Residents with questions or concerns about the placement were directed to contact local law enforcement.
Official Advisory and Description
The notification came from the Mount Pleasant Police Department and was reported by FOX6 News Milwaukee, which shared the department’s description of Little. FOX6 reports that he is described as a Black male, about 5'2" and 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The outlet notes that Little will be under Wisconsin DOC supervision and electronically monitored while at the Prairie Drive residence during the listed dates. FOX6 also published a phone number for public questions related to the placement (262-664-7975).
Residency Rules in Mount Pleasant
The Village of Mount Pleasant has its own Sex Offender Residency ordinance and a residency board that helps decide where certain registrants may live in relation to schools, parks and child care centers, according to the Village of Mount Pleasant Sex Offender Residency Board. The rules also require advance notification before someone in this category can establish a residence in the village.
Under that ordinance, registrants must notify police at least 28 days before moving into a residence in Mount Pleasant. The Mount Pleasant Police Department lists its administrative and non-emergency contact numbers on its department page. These local rules work alongside state registry requirements so that police and residents have advance notice about placements like Little’s.
How to Check and Who to Call
For residents who want to verify whether someone is on the registry, the state offers an online registry search and notification tools. People can look up names on the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry or sign up for alerts through DOC NOTIS, according to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
The DOC operates the statewide sex offender registry and provides victim resources along with its alert services. If you believe someone is violating their conditions, you are urged to contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and call 911 if you believe anyone is in immediate danger.
Legal Consequences
Wisconsin law requires qualifying offenders to register and keep their information up to date. Failure to comply can result in criminal penalties under state law (see Wis. Stat.).
