A 30-year-old man remains in critical condition after being shot April 20 in the Centennial Village townhouse complex on Concord Bridge Place in Newark. Police say the victim walked into Christiana Hospital at about 2:50 p.m. with an upper-body gunshot wound, where staff alerted law enforcement. Officers say the shooter had already taken off, sparking an investigation that stretched for days before an arrest.
Officers were dispatched to Christiana Hospital after staff reported the walk-in shooting victim, according to a New Castle County Division of Police news release. Investigators say the shooting may have happened in the 500 block of Concord Bridge Place in Centennial Village, and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case. 6abc reported the victim arrived at the hospital with a neck wound and was listed in critical condition.
Suspect arrested and charged
New Castle County police later identified 28-year-old Quran Tabron as the suspect. According to a post on the department's Facebook page, officers say he fled the scene but was later located and transported to police headquarters. The Facebook post states that on April 28 Tabron was charged with attempted murder in the first degree and one felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and that detectives arraigned him in Justice of the Peace Court 2.
