Las Vegas is getting a frosty new import from the East Coast. Chilly Philly Ice & Bites, a mobile trailer promising Philly-style frozen treats and small bites, is gearing up to join the Las Vegas Valley this year. Owner Charita Barnes confirmed the project is underway and said the trailer is slated to operate out of a local commissary in east Las Vegas. City permit filings list the Trujillo Commissary as the truck’s servicing address, a sign the business is moving through the permitting process.
According to What Now Las Vegas, Barnes said the truck will open soon but declined to give a firm timeline or share a finalized menu while logistics are still being worked out. The outlet also reports the operation does not yet have active social pages, which leaves official launch details pretty limited for now.
Where It Will Be Based
The Trujillo Commissary, listed at 5560 E Lake Mead Blvd in county property records, appears to be the registered servicing depot for the trailer. Clark County property records and the county’s commissary list confirm Trujillo as a permitted commissary that hosts multiple local food vendors, making it a common home base for mobile units in the Valley.
Permits, Health Rules and What To Expect
The Southern Nevada Health District requires mobile food units to have a permitted servicing area and to complete plan review and inspection before a health permit is issued. Southern Nevada Health District guidance lays out the steps that operators must follow, including submitting plans and passing on-site inspections, before they can start regular service.
For now, What Now Las Vegas has provided the first public indication that the trailer is on its way. Fans of water-ice, soft-serve or cheesesteak-inspired treats will likely first spot Chilly Philly Ice & Bites at commissary lots, special events or regular food-truck gatherings once it rolls out. We will be watching for a menu, opening date and social pages as Barnes finalizes the launch and the health district completes permitting.
