
Early Thursday morning, a woman was found stabbed near the Moore Square bus station in downtown Raleigh and rushed to a hospital, where she is reported to be recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Raleigh police responded to the GoRaleigh station on South Blount Street and found the victim, investigators said. It is still unclear whether the stabbing happened at the bus stop itself or if the woman came to the station after she was wounded, and no arrests have been made. The investigation remains active, according to WRAL.
Transit hub has seen other incidents
The GoRaleigh station is located at 214 S. Blount St., right next to Moore Square Park. The City of Raleigh lists Moore Square at 201 S. Blount St., per the City of Raleigh. Downtown stakeholders and transit advocates have raised safety concerns around the busy transit hub, and local partners have added extra patrols and private security in recent months, according to Downtown Raleigh.
Police asking for tips
Detectives say the case is still under active investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact Raleigh police. No suspect description has been released, and authorities remained on the scene Thursday, WRAL reports.
