A 33-year-old man is in the hospital after a stabbing on the 3800 block of South Zarzamora Street turned an argument into a violent crime scene on San Antonio's Southwest Side.

Police say the man was stabbed in the upper body Tuesday and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The attacker took off before officers arrived and had not been found as investigators worked the area and spoke with witnesses.

According to KENS5, the San Antonio Police Department said the 33-year-old victim had been arguing with a 40-year-old man he knew shortly before the stabbing. No arrests have been made, and SAPD is treating the case as an active investigation. The television report was written by Andrea Carden.

Where Investigators Are Focusing

Officers were called to the 3800 block of South Zarzamora, a stretch of road that has seen serious violence before. The same block was the site of a September 2023 shootout outside a Jack in the Box that left two people wounded, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

The broader South Side has also dealt with more knife violence this month. On May 17, a separate stabbing on the 10200 block of South Zarzamora hospitalized people, per KSAT.
