
Two people were wounded in a double shooting Sunday evening in Southeast D.C., after officers were called to the 1600 block of T Street SE, according to police. Officers got to the scene around 7:13 p.m., where they found a man who was conscious and breathing with a gunshot wound and took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said a second victim did not wait for an ambulance and instead got to a hospital on their own. The Metropolitan Police Department has kept the case open and under active investigation, and has not released any information on a possible suspect or motive, according to DC News Now.
What police said
In a public advisory, MPD told reporters that "an investigation is underway" and confirmed the response time and exact location of the shooting, per DC News Now. Detectives have not announced any arrests and continued canvassing the area Sunday night for shell casings, surveillance footage and witnesses.
