Philadelphia police are turning up the pressure on a suspect caught on camera violently ripping a woman's purse from her at a Tacony bus stop on Feb. 5. Surveillance footage shows the man yanking the strap so hard the woman crashes to the ground and is dragged before he bolts with her purse, cash, keys and cellphone. Detectives have pushed out new still images this week and are dangling a reward as they push for fresh tips.

New Images Show Suspect In Action

Fresh images of the suspect were released this week as part of a renewed push to put a name to the face, according to 6abc. Investigators say the surveillance video, recorded on the 6900 block of Torresdale Avenue on Feb. 5, shows the attacker move in on the victim and grab for her purse. They are banking on the clearer photos to jog memories and bring in new leads.

Police Description Of The Attacker

According to NBC10, police describe the suspect as a Black man between 30 and 40 years old, about 6 feet tall and roughly 210 pounds, with a full beard. In the footage, he is seen wearing a blue green striped shirt and jeans. After the Feb. 5 attack, he was last spotted running toward the 4600 block of Disston Street. Anyone who recognizes him is urged to contact the Northeast Detectives Division.

Busy Tacony Corridor On Edge

The robbery unfolded on the 6900 block of Torresdale Avenue, a busy Tacony stretch that has already been on police radar this spring. That same corridor saw a high profile armored truck robbery in April that netted about $1.8 million, according to CBS Philadelphia. Neighbors told FOX29 that the latest surveillance clip is hard to watch and has longtime residents feeling rattled. Local shop owners say they are counting on a strong police presence and sharp eyed neighbors to help bring the suspect in.

How To Help Catch The Suspect

Philadelphia police are offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest, according to 6abc. Anyone with information is urged to call 215-686-TIPS. Tipsters can also reach the Northeast Detectives Division directly at 215-686-3153 or 215-686-3154 to share information or video. Investigators stress that even small details could help them identify the man in the footage.
