A Tampa man has been ordered to spend 50 years in state prison after admitting to a staggering list of felony charges tied to the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, according to prosecutors. Christopher Jollimore, 24, will also serve a lifetime of probation and carry a court-ordered designation as a sexual predator. County officials have described the matter as among the most disturbing cases their offices handle.
The plea and sentence
Prosecutors said Jollimore entered guilty pleas to dozens of counts that included six charges of attempted sexual battery of a victim under 12, four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and 53 counts of promotion of a sexual performance by a child. He was also charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography and roughly 100 counts tied to images or video showing sexual activity with an animal, and received a 50-year prison term followed by lifetime probation, according to the Tampa Free Press.
Court records and case details
Court calendars from the Hillsborough Clerk of Court list the matter as case number 25-CF-017404-A and show multiple felony counts tied to alleged incidents dated August 21, 2019. Those public records also identify Assistant State Attorney Jessica Couvertier as the prosecutor assigned to the case, according to the clerk's calendars and dockets.
Prosecutors and victims
Hillsborough County State Attorney Suzy Lopez said in a statement that, "This sentence ensures he will spend the majority of his life behind bars and under strict supervision for the rest of his life," as reported by the Tampa Free Press. The outlet also notes that victims' family members addressed the court during sentencing and spoke about the lasting impact of the crimes.
Legal consequences
Under Florida law, a sexual predator designation comes with lifetime registration, community-notification requirements and stricter reporting rules for the offender. Those obligations are spelled out in Florida's Sexual Predators Act; see Florida Statutes Section 775.21 for the legal framework that governs predator status and registration.
What happens next
Jollimore will be transferred into the state prison system to begin serving his 50-year sentence, and court records indicate he will remain under supervision for life after any release. The prosecution was handled by Assistant State Attorney Jessica Couvertier, and public court calendars maintained by the Hillsborough Clerk of Court list the case, its number and related scheduling information.
