
A 5-year-old child is fighting for life after a shooting last Friday at the Victory Park Apartments in Tyler, according to city police. The child was first rushed to a local hospital, then flown to a Dallas hospital, where the child remains in critical condition. Officers say the suspect is still on the loose and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Tyler police said officers were dispatched around 10:45 p.m. to the 2700 block of North Grand Avenue at the Victory Park Apartments, where they found the child and multiple shell casings at the scene, according to KLTV. Paramedics took the child to a local hospital before the child was flown to Dallas, police said. A Tyler Police lieutenant told reporters that investigators believe several people were involved, and that details are limited because a juvenile is among the victims.
