
A routine welfare check at a popular Anaheim hotel turned tragic late Wednesday night, when officers discovered two men dead inside a room at the Hotel Pepper Tree. Anaheim police said they were called to the property just before 10 p.m., where the welfare check quickly shifted into a death investigation.
How Officers Were Alerted
According to the Anaheim Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Hotel Pepper Tree after the father of one of the men asked for a welfare check. When officers entered the room, they found both men unresponsive. Hotel staff told reporters the pair had checked in two days earlier. Police said the deaths are being investigated as a double suicide and that the names of the victims have not yet been released, as reported by FOX 11.

What Investigators Say
Anaheim police said they are treating the case as a double suicide and have not publicly identified either victim, according to FOX 11. Officials stressed there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public and said hotel operations were not disrupted while officers conducted their work.
