A late Sunday stabbing on San Antonio’s West Side sent two people to the hospital after a disturbance that moved from inside a house to the middle of the street, according to police. Officers said the violence started in a home in the 900 block of 36th Street, then continued at the intersection of 36th and Esmeralda. The victims, a 68-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, were taken to University Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
According to News4SanAntonio, San Antonio police said the man allegedly stabbed the woman, then turned the knife on himself during the confrontation. An SAPD sergeant told the station that officers found both injured after the altercation spilled into the street. Investigators said the case remains under review, and authorities have not released the names of either person.
Recent West Side Knife Incidents
The attack comes amid a series of knife-related cases around the city and highlights continuing violence on parts of the West Side. The Express-News reported a fatal hotel stabbing in April that also involved an attacker who injured himself. Neighbors and community advocates have increasingly called attention to these incidents in recent weeks.
Investigation Ongoing
San Antonio police told News4SanAntonio that the investigation remains active as detectives gather evidence and interview witnesses. No arrests or charges had been announced in the initial report, and officers did not provide any information about a possible motive. The department has not released additional details.
