Apple Valley detectives are asking the public for help after arresting a 23-year-old man in a child sexual-assault investigation, saying they are concerned there may be more victims who have not yet come forward.
According to CBS Los Angeles, Apple Valley detectives arrested 23-year-old Freddy Cisneros in Fontana on June 9 following what deputies described as a yearlong investigation. Investigators told the outlet that Cisneros allegedly contacted a 14-year-old via a social media platform in May 2025 and then had sexual contact with the minor. They also said he was living in El Monte and working as a tow-truck driver at the time.
How to Reach Investigators
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department lists the Apple Valley Patrol Station at 14931 Dale Evans Parkway, with the station number at (760) 240-7400 and the desert non-emergency dispatch line at (760) 956-5001. Anyone who believes they may have information related to this case is urged to call those numbers, according to the sheriff's station.
Why Deputies Released the Booking Photo
Detectives told CBS Los Angeles that they released Cisneros’ booking photo because they believe there could be additional victims who have not yet been identified. The investigation is still active, and deputies are asking anyone who has interacted with Cisneros to contact detectives so they can pursue potential leads.
Context: Social Media and Online Enticement
Cases that start with a simple message on a social platform are becoming increasingly common, complicating the work of local investigators. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has reported a rise in online enticement and other forms of exploitation in recent data, highlighting how quickly these situations can escalate. According to NCMEC, reports involving online enticement and AI-related concerns have increased, and the organization urges anyone who suspects exploitation to submit a report to its CyberTipline.
Anyone with information about the Apple Valley case is asked to contact the Apple Valley Patrol Station at (760) 240-7400 or the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s non-emergency desert dispatch line at (760) 956-5001. Detectives say tips will be treated confidentially as they continue their investigation.
