A violent Sunday night in Seattle’s Little Saigon left two people in critical condition after separate stabbings along South Weller Street, according to police. Officers first found a man covered in blood at 10th Avenue South and South Weller, then later located a second wounded person near 12th Avenue South and South Weller. Both victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Detectives worked behind crime-scene tape as officers combed the area for clues. According to The Seattle Times, investigators processed both scenes and canvassed nearby blocks for witnesses and video. The paper reported that both victims were transported to Harborview in critical condition.
Neighborhood’s Recent Violence And Community Concerns
The latest stabbings land in a neighborhood already on edge. The Little Saigon and 12th and Jackson stretch has been under intense scrutiny since a burst of violence in November 2024, when a string of stabbings rattled residents and business owners.
Axios reported that those earlier attacks injured ten people over roughly 38 hours, led to an arrest, and ratcheted up pressure on city leaders to increase patrols and invest in better lighting and cameras. Many in the Chinatown–International District and Little Saigon have been calling for lasting fixes rather than short bursts of enforcement that fade once headlines do.
How Police Tracked A Possible Suspect
Seattle police told The Seattle Times that officers tapped the city’s real-time crime center, used police dogs, and got help from the King County Sheriff’s Office as they searched a cordoned area for a possible suspect. Detectives said they were still following up on leads as the investigation continued.
City Projects And What Comes Next
The stabbings come as the city and neighborhood groups are trying to make the Chinatown–International District and Little Saigon feel safer, including work on a pedestrian-lighting project along 12th Avenue South. The Seattle Department of Transportation details that project and other public-realm improvements aimed at protecting people who live, work, and run businesses in the corridor.
The Seattle Police Department has asked anyone with information or video related to the attacks to contact detectives as the case moves forward. Late Sunday, officials had not released further details about the victims’ identities or the status of any suspect.
