
A Saturday night call about an assault in Cold Spring quickly turned into a homicide investigation after officers found a man fatally stabbed in a neighborhood home, authorities said.
Police say they were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to the 400 block of 8th Avenue North, where first responders discovered a man with an apparent stab wound. Despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The case remains under active investigation.

According to WJON, officers with the Cold Spring–Richmond Police Department found the wounded man after a report of an assault at a home on 8th Avenue North. Another man at the residence was taken into custody and is being held in the Stearns County Jail while authorities consider potential charges.
First responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene, WJON reports, but the victim did not survive. Police said the scene was secured for investigators and that there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
