Jason Hall is stepping down as CEO of The Columbus Partnership, the influential CEO-led coalition that helps steer major economic and civic projects across Central Ohio. Corrine Burger, a longtime JPMorgan Chase executive in Columbus, will take over as interim chief while the board launches a national hunt for a permanent replacement.
Resignation and interim leadership
According to The Columbus Dispatch, the Partnership announced tomorrow that Hall will resign and move back closer to his parents in the St. Louis metro area. The Dispatch reports that Burger has been tapped as interim CEO and that the board plans a national search to fill the job permanently.
Hall's brief run and the Partnership's record
Hall, who previously led Greater St. Louis, Inc., was hired after a national search and officially started in early January 2025, as outlined by The Columbus Region. Press releases from The Columbus Region cite recent population and project data that the organization says helped the metro add jobs and attract capital during Hall's tenure.
Turnover raises questions about continuity
The shake-up leaves the Partnership searching again for a long-term leader after a stretch of rapid turnover. The Columbus Dispatch reported that this is the group's third top-leadership change in roughly two years. The Dispatch quoted Partnership co-chair Steve Steinour saying Burger "will ensure the Partnership remains focused on delivering for the region" while the search is underway.
Who is Corrine Burger
Corrine Burger has served as the Columbus location leader and chief control officer for JPMorgan Chase’s consumer businesses, overseeing local operations and risk controls, according to coverage by The Ohio State University. She has held regional board roles and retired from the bank last year before stepping into the interim post at the Partnership.
What's next
The Partnership says its governing board will form a search committee and work to keep major initiatives on schedule while a permanent CEO is identified. Local leaders note that stability at the top is no small thing, since the Partnership helps coordinate big public-private projects, workforce efforts, and high-profile corporate recruitment across the region.
