Violence this spring
This latest killing lands in the middle of a violent stretch for Goldsboro. In mid-May, police charged two juveniles in the killing of a 42-year-old man, according to WTVD. And in April, WRAL reported that an 18-year-old was found shot to death at a home on Lincoln Drive.
Those cases have put an even brighter spotlight on gun violence in the city as local officials work to slow the trend. This latest homicide on West Chestnut Street only adds urgency to that effort. We will update this story as the Goldsboro Police Department releases further details.
