Fort Worth police told The Dallas Morning News that when officers arrived yesterday, they discovered the person pinned beneath a truck, and the victim was declared dead on-site, the paper reported. Investigators with FWPD's traffic unit were working the scene to determine what led up to the crash and had not released any additional details.
Where It Happened
The collision took place along a stretch of U.S. 287 that has seen several serious crashes in recent months, including a June 17 two-vehicle wreck that killed two people, according to Hoodline. That earlier crash briefly shut down lanes while crews cleared the roadway, adding to ongoing safety concerns along the corridor.
