After months on the run, 31-year-old Frankie Hairston was taken into custody Wednesday morning, capping a lengthy manhunt tied to the deadly shooting at a Slavic Village gas station last fall. Investigators say Hairston was the final fugitive connected to the October 2025 case, which left two men dead and two others wounded.
According to Cleveland 19, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force tracked Hairston to a home on Cleveland’s East Side and arrested him without incident. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office had been seeking him on charges that include murder, felonious assault, involuntary manslaughter, and having weapons under disability.
What Happened At The Fleet Avenue Sunoco
As reported by News 5, the shooting unfolded around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2025, at the Sunoco in the 7000 block of Fleet Avenue in Slavic Village. Officers arrived to find four people shot. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the two men who died as 37-year-old Deon Stallings and 46-year-old Bruce Singleton.
Detectives recovered two firearms at the scene, according to News 5, and investigators began combing through evidence in the aftermath of the attack.
Other Suspects And The Ongoing Case
Cleveland 19 reported that Cleveland police had already identified and arrested three other men in 2025 in connection with the shooting: Damon Walton, Jabrial Adams, and Gino Pierce. Hairston was later indicted as the fifth suspect in the case.
Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force had been searching for Hairston not only in connection with the Sunoco slaying but also an unrelated 2024 burglary investigation, according to Cleveland 19.
Task Force Tip Line And What Comes Next
The U.S. Marshals Service, which leads the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, has continued to push for public help in tracking wanted suspects and directs tips to the NOVFTF tip line at 1-866-4WANTED (1-866-492-6833), according to the U.S. Marshals Service. The agency notes that the task force works with a web of local and state partners across northern Ohio to locate fugitives and bring them into custody.
Authorities have not yet released booking or court appearance details in Hairston’s case. Detectives say the broader investigation remains active and are asking anyone with information to contact the Cleveland police or call the NOVFTF tip line.
