A late-night police pursuit in El Sereno wrapped up on a residential block when an allegedly armed driver pulled over near Dorchester Avenue and Norwich Avenue and surrendered to Los Angeles police. SkyCal aerial footage showed the person stepping out of the vehicle with hands raised, then lying down on a nearby driveway while neighbors watched from their porches.
Officers initially kept their distance, treating the situation as potentially volatile because the suspect was believed to be armed. A homeowner was seen shouting at the driver as officers held their positions. After a period of waiting and tactical assessment, a team of officers moved in behind a shield and placed the person in handcuffs at about 9:30 p.m.
As reported by CBS Los Angeles, SkyCal was overhead as the stop unfolded and captured the suspect steering onto a driveway near Dorchester and Norwich before surrendering.
