Universal Orlando Resort is giving Epic Universe a big new nightcap. Universal Celestial Goodnight, a new nighttime spectacular, will debut at the park on Tuesday, July 7. The multisensory show will transform Celestial Park each evening with choreographed fountains, synchronized lighting and a fireworks finale that closes the park. It marks Epic Universe’s first regular nightly spectacular since the park opened in May 2025.
What the show will look like
The production is set to blanket Celestial Park with nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, more than 350 larger-than-life fountains and roughly seven million embedded LEDs, all timed to an original musical score, according to Amusement Today. The sequence is billed as a tribute to the park’s portals, from SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to How to Train Your Dragon, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic and Dark Universe, and it all wraps with a fireworks-heavy finale. Universal’s team says the show is designed to be visible from across Celestial Park and to become a signature end-of-day moment for guests.
Announcement and early tests
Universal first teased the show on its official social channels, calling it a "glittering new fireworks finale," per WDW News Today. Theme-park watchers have reported audio testing inside Epic Universe and staged equipment at a nearby launch pad, signs the show has been in the works for months. WDWNT also notes that Universal has been hiring fireworks technicians and installing permanent launch infrastructure in recent weeks.
Why this fills a gap
Epic Universe opened in May 2025 as Universal’s most technologically ambitious park, yet it has gone without a regular nightly spectacular until now. That has stood out because the park has quickly become a major local draw and economic engine, a theme Universal has leaned on in materials about Epic’s first year. By adding a permanent evening production, Universal can spread guest activity later into the day and give visitors one more reason to linger in Celestial Park after attractions close.
When to go and what to know
Viewing for Universal Celestial Goodnight will be included with standard Epic Universe admission, and guests are advised to check the Universal Orlando app for exact showtimes, per FOX 35 Orlando. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Epic has posted operating hours through the end of August that show the park open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., though Universal cautions that hours and viewing locations may vary. To catch the full production without getting completely swallowed by the evening crush, consider saving Celestial Park for last and checking crowd-tracking tools before you head over.
