
An early morning home invasion in Los Angeles' Fairfax district left a resident assaulted and two gunmen on the run Saturday, after they forced their way into a home, stole jewelry and cell phones, then took off before officers arrived, police said.
The incident was reported at about 4:32 a.m. in the 800 block of North Detroit Street in central Los Angeles. According to officials, the suspects fled in an unknown vehicle, and no arrests had been announced by Saturday afternoon.

As reported by KTLA, the Los Angeles Police Department described the suspects as two adult males armed with handguns who forced their way into the home and assaulted the resident. Investigators told KTLA the intruders grabbed jewelry along with several cell phones before leaving the scene.
