A Fort Worth man was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison after a jury convicted him of sexually assaulting a child, according to prosecutors. The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office said 24-year-old Antonio Bunnitt Jr. met the victim on social media in 2024 and sexually assaulted her multiple times after they met in person. Jurors also heard from two other women who testified that Bunnitt had sexually assaulted them during earlier incidents.
According to the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, Assistant District Attorneys Sydney Brock and Olivia Stoner tried the case. Investigator Tiffany Johnson and Victim Coordinator Angela Stevens assisted, with additional support from Madison Martin. The office publicly credited the Fort Worth Police Department for its work on the investigation and for helping bring the case to trial.

Prosecutors' Account
During the trial, prosecutors told jurors that Bunnitt first contacted the victim on social media in 2024, then met her in person, where the sexual assaults occurred multiple times that year. The jury also heard from two previous victims who testified that Bunnitt had sexually assaulted them in separate incidents. In its public statement, the District Attorney's Office thanked the Fort Worth City Police Department for its role in the case and its commitment to community safety.
Sentence And Next Steps
After the guilty verdict, Bunnitt, 24, received a 12-year prison sentence. Court filings and scheduling information are handled through the Tarrant County criminal docket. The District Attorney's announcement did not immediately include details about bond or post-conviction steps.
Legal Context
Texas law treats sexual offenses against children as serious felonies, with penalties that vary based on the specific statute and any aggravating factors. Under the Texas Penal Code, sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault carry different punishment ranges, and aggravated offenses often expose defendants to higher terms. A conviction for a sex offense can also trigger registration and reporting obligations, which, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, may affect supervision and housing eligibility after release.
