The aircraft circled, touched back down safely at General Mitchell International Airport, and was met by emergency responders. There were no reported injuries.

United flight 6254, operated by Mesa Airlines for United, departed Milwaukee bound for Houston but turned back soon after the captain reported a landing gear issue. The pilot recognized the alert, opted to return to the airport, and circled while ground crews prepared for the arrival. The jet ultimately landed without incident, according to WISN.

In a statement to WISN, Mesa Airlines said it is working with United to move affected passengers onto later flights as soon as possible. Emergency vehicles accompanied the plane to the gate and fire crews responded as a precaution while ground teams began inspecting the aircraft. Passengers were deplaned in the usual manner and staff started rebooking travelers, per WISN.
No further disruptions were reported at the airport after the precautionary response.
