NYPD detectives are looking for two suspects who robbed a 49-year-old man outside 1404 Ogden Avenue in the Bronx last Saturday, yanking the man’s necklace while one of them flashed a gun and then taking off in a black SUV. Police say no arrests have been made.
According to an NYPD Crime Stoppers post, the two unidentified individuals approached the victim in the 44th Precinct’s area, where one suspect displayed a firearm while the other pulled the necklace from the man’s neck. The NYPD shared surveillance stills of the pair and listed the victim as a 49-year-old male, urging anyone with information to message @NYPDTips or call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS. The post notes that tipsters whose information leads to an arrest and indictment may be eligible for a reward.
Recent Alerts Along Ogden Avenue
The department’s latest appeal comes after other recent police alerts tied to Ogden Avenue. A reported 1048 Ogden Ave break-in in March drew attention to crime on the same corridor. Local outlets have periodically highlighted robberies and assaults in the area, and detectives are once again leaning on Crime Stoppers in hopes that someone in the neighborhood recognizes the suspects.
How To Reach Investigators
Anyone who recognizes the people in the photos or who has relevant video is asked to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or to submit tips through NYPD Crime Stoppers, the department’s online tip portal. Tips can be submitted anonymously and may qualify for a cash reward if they lead to an arrest and indictment. The NYPD also accepts direct messages to @NYPDTips that include photos or video.
Investigators say they are reviewing nearby surveillance and encouraging neighbors and drivers to check doorbell and dashcam footage from late last Saturday. Anyone with potential evidence is asked to contact Crime Stoppers or DM @NYPDTips so detectives can follow up.
