Two slashing attacks in Jamaica, just days apart and only blocks from each other, have led to the arrests of a man and a woman, according to Queens police. In both cases, victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition after being slashed near the busy Sutphin Boulevard transit hub.
Subway Attack Near Sutphin
The first case unfolded around the height of the morning rush, about 8:20 a.m. on June 1, when police say a 22-year-old rider was punched and slashed aboard a Manhattan-bound E train as it approached the Sutphin Boulevard–Archer Avenue station.
Investigators say the assailant attacked the victim on the train, then left the scene at the Sutphin Boulevard–Archer Avenue stop. After a brief hospital stay, the victim was reported to be in stable condition.
Christopher Henry was arrested on June 10 in connection with the subway attack and charged with three counts of assault. City Department of Correction records list him as being held without bail on Rikers Island, as reported by the Queens Chronicle.
Police Wanted Notices Before The Arrest
Before Henry was picked up, the NYPD circulated photos and a wanted notice for the June 1 subway slashing. The incident was logged on the NYPD Crime Stoppers page as case number 2026-103-6619, which described the suspect leaving the train at the Sutphin Boulevard–Archer Avenue station and urged anyone with information to call the tip line, according to Crime Stoppers.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly slashed the victim across the face and left arm before fleeing. The victim went to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
