Jinsol Gukbap, the Los Angeles-born chain known for Busan-style pork-and-rice soups, has landed in Plano at 111 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Suite 102, bringing its signature dwaeji gukbap and a family-style dining room to the Spring Creek corridor. Owner Bo Young Jang turned the space that previously housed Naju Myeonok into the newest local franchise outpost.
Jang, who formerly ran Naju Myeonok at the same address, is the franchisee behind the Plano restaurant. She told CultureMap Dallas she was "mesmerized by the rich and deep flavor" of Jinsol in Los Angeles. That report also notes this is the chain's second Dallas-Fort Worth location after a Carrollton outpost.
Broth Is The Star
The menu revolves around dwaeji gukbap, a pork-centric soup from Busan built on a marrow-rich broth that is simmered for up to 24 hours until it turns milky and deeply savory. Jinsol's own materials describe that long-simmering technique, while Eater LA has praised the chain for its Busan-style broths. Bowls arrive with rice and a spread of banchan, turning each order into a communal, spoon-driven meal.
What To Order
Soup bowls come with choices of proteins that include shredded brisket, oxtail, short rib and Korean sausage, with most bowls priced in the mid-teens and larger mains running about $20 to $45. The menu also offers handmade noodles, dumplings, kimchi-forward sides and cold naengmyeon served in an icy broth. Local delivery listings show the full Plano menu and prices for takeout and delivery, according to Postmates.
Hours, Seating And The Room
The dining room seats about 85 guests at large tables built for groups and family-style sharing. CultureMap Dallas reports the Plano outpost is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 9:30 p.m., and lists the address as 111 W. Spring Creek Pkwy., Suite 102.
Why It Matters
For Dallas-area diners, Jinsol fills a niche for hearty, Busan-style gukbap in a growing Korean dining scene in the northern suburbs. Eater LA and other outlets have treated Jinsol as a Koreatown staple in Los Angeles, so local fans can expect the same big-broth, communal experience now in Plano.
