Brewers Hill neighbors woke up Wednesday to a rude surprise: multiple cars sitting on mangled rubber, with tires cut or punctured along several blocks of the southeast Baltimore neighborhood. Some drivers were left stranded, while others scrambled for spare tires and tow truck numbers before work.

Baltimore police told WBAL they received at least one report of four people slashing tires around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday. Complaints came from an area near South Clinton Street, and incidents were also logged near Fait Avenue and South Dean Street in Brewers Hill, according to the station.

Video shows group roaming streets as residents find damage

Surveillance video provided to WBAL-TV 11 by the Brewers Hill Camera Network appears to show a group walking through the neighborhood. In one clip, a person can be seen approaching a parked car and appearing to tamper with a tire, according to WBAL.

Sharing footage, filing reports, and sending tips

Neighbors say they are swapping surveillance clips and photos in community groups and urging anyone with additional video to turn it over to investigators. For non-emergency reports and follow-up, Baltimore police direct residents to their online contact page at Baltimore Police.

Anonymous tips can be sent to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587).

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests had been announced as of Wednesday morning. Anyone who lives in the area or captured relevant footage is asked to contact investigators through the police website or Metro Crime Stoppers.
