Target is putting its bullseye on Little Elm on July 26, when the retailer opens its first full-size store in town. The single-level, roughly 148,000-square-foot location is slated to bring about 200 jobs to the U.S. 380 retail corridor and add a grocery-forward big-box option for the north Dallas suburbs. Local planners expect the store to anchor a new shopping cluster and see its arrival as a visible step in the town's effort to expand dining and retail along the U.S. 380 corridor.
According to Target, the Little Elm site is one of 11 stores officially opening on July 26 and is listed at about 148,000 square feet. The company notes that the store will offer Drive Up, Order Pickup and same-day delivery, along with in-store amenities including an Apple at Target shop, a CVS Pharmacy, a Disney store at Target, a Starbucks café and Target Optical. The fact sheet gives the store's address as 26550 E University Drive (Aubrey).
As reported by the Dallas Business Journal, the Little Elm location will employ about 200 people and is Target's first store in the town. The outlet also highlighted the retailer's sizable real estate footprint across the broader Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Where The Store Will Sit
The new Target will serve as the anchor tenant at Bates Towne Crossing at U.S. 380 and Ryan Spiritas Parkway, a corner the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation has specifically identified for larger retail development. In its newsletters and executive reports, the EDC lists other incoming restaurants and shops at the site and describes Target as a catalytic addition for the corridor, according to the Little Elm EDC.
Part Of A Larger Expansion
The Little Elm opening fits into a broader growth push for the chain. Industry coverage notes that Target plans roughly 30 openings in 2026 and is targeting as many as 300 new stores by 2035, with the July group including several locations that exceed the company's average store size. Retail Dive reported that the July openings emphasize fresh grocery and same-day services as part of Target's strategy.
For Little Elm residents, the store's debut should translate into more shopping choices close to home and new local jobs. For the town, officials see the arrival as the kind of anchor that could accelerate follow-on retail investment along U.S. 380. Town and company officials have not yet posted a grand-opening schedule or hiring timeline; this story will be updated when those dates are announced.
