Mother’s is back on the map. The scratch-kitchen favorite that long anchored Westchase has quietly resurfaced in Northdale after roughly a yearlong hiatus, settling into a noticeably larger space and rolling out an updated comfort-food menu alongside a refreshed cocktail program. Regulars will recognize the same commitment to made-from-scratch cooking, now with more seats and room to grow evening service.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Mother’s closed unexpectedly last summer before reappearing in Northdale at the end of May. The paper pointed to menu standouts like wings tossed in chimichurri and a smoked old-fashioned dubbed the “Hog Father,” and described the move as a jump into a bigger location that gives both the kitchen and bar more breathing room.
What’s New at Mother’s
That’s So Tampa reported that Mother’s debuted at the end of May at 3825 Northdale Boulevard with a new chef leading the line. The coverage highlighted a tightened, more ambitious entrée list and a revamped cocktail lineup that leans into the bar’s expanded footprint.
The Mother’s website backs up the Northdale address and provides the restaurant’s phone number, along with links to current hours and the full menu.
From Westchase to Northdale
Mother’s first opened in Westchase in 2016 and built a following around scratch-made comfort dishes and live-music nights, according to early write-ups. Creative Loafing Tampa reviewed the restaurant when it launched at 12227 W. Linebaugh Ave., noting its upscale-casual spin on homestyle plates.
The new Northdale spot follows an abrupt shutdown last summer that left regulars unsure when, or if, Mother’s would resurface. The larger storefront gives the team space to rework service patterns and test new dishes without the tight squeeze of the original layout.
Hours, Address And Reservations
Mother’s now lists its Northdale address as 3825 Northdale Boulevard, with a reservation line at (813) 280-1810 on its website. The site also links to online ordering and a rewards sign-up option for frequent diners.
Reported hours for the Northdale location are Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., which allows for later weekend service as the dining room settles in.
The reopening appears designed to recapture what made Mother’s a neighborhood mainstay, from scratch cooking to a cocktail-forward bar, while giving the restaurant room to evolve. Guests are encouraged to check the restaurant’s site or call ahead if they plan to stop by on busy weekend nights.
