The Folsom Police Department told reporters the attack happened around 9:15 p.m. on the 6000 block of Riley Street at the park, according to The Sacramento Bee. The paper noted the park includes playgrounds, softball fields and sand-volleyball courts. Police also posted a social media update asking for tips and said there is no known ongoing threat to the public.

Police Ask for Help
In a social post cited by The Sacramento Bee, the department said, “We appreciate the community’s assistance and will provide additional information as it becomes available.” Detectives asked anyone with information to contact Detective Howard at [email protected] or 916-355-7231. Officials emphasized the incident appears isolated while the probe continues.
Context
This is not the first serious incident reported at Livermore Community Park in recent years; coverage documented a 2023 stabbing there that investigators also described as isolated, according to the Folsom Times. Those earlier probes briefly closed park restrooms while detectives processed scenes, and residents later asked for more patrols in neighborhood parks.
Folsom police said they will update the public as investigators follow leads. Anyone who may have witnessed the Wednesday night incident or has relevant video is urged to contact the department so detectives can piece together what happened.
