What started as a traffic stop at an east-side gas station on June 4 ended with a foot chase and a Taser deployment, according to Orlando police. Officers say the driver, identified as Omarion King, ran from the scene before they caught up with him. A later search of the silver Buick turned up a firearm and pills, police said.

According to a post from Orlando Police, officers pulled over the silver Buick driven by King on June 4 as part of an undercover drug operation. When King took off on foot, officers say they used a Taser during the pursuit. The department’s post states that a subsequent vehicle search revealed “a Draco-style firearm loaded with high-powered rounds” sitting in plain view on the passenger seat, along with suspected oxycodone.
What officers recovered
Draco-style pistols are compact, AK-pattern firearms that fire rifle-caliber rounds and can accept high-capacity magazines, according to the manufacturer. Century Arms lists the Draco as a 7.62x39mm pistol with a short barrel and magazines that can hold 30 rounds, which helps explain why officers described the weapon as loaded with high-powered ammunition.
Drugs found and why it matters
Police said officers also found oxycodone during the search. Oxycodone is a prescription opioid used to treat moderate to severe pain and carries a risk of misuse and overdose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Illegally obtained or counterfeit pills can circulate in local markets and are a frequent focus of narcotics investigations.
What police have released and next steps
The department’s social media post did not list any charges, booking information or the specific gas-station address where the traffic stop occurred, according to Orlando Police. Officials have not released additional details about potential charges or any upcoming court proceedings.
