Summer at Pasadena City College is now a high-speed affair. The college opened its 2026 summer session Monday as one condensed eight-week term running from June 22 through August 14, 2026. The single session replaces the usual overlapping subterms and is intended to keep counseling, financial aid and basic-needs services running straight through the summer. Classes are available in person, in hybrid formats and fully online.

As reported by Pasadena Now, registration has been open since May 19, the class schedule went live April 20, and the summer application opened on Dec. 1, 2025. The outlet also notes that PCC serves more than 27,000 students each semester across the Pasadena Area Community College District.

Key dates and fees

Per Pasadena City College, tuition and fees are due at the time of registration. California residents pay $46 per unit, while nonresidents are charged a $409 per-unit surcharge plus a $26 per-unit capital outlay fee. Required summer charges also include a $22 health fee, a $5 student activity fee and a $2 student representation fee. Students who miss payment deadlines can be dropped from their classes.

The college lists July 6 as the summer enrollment freeze date, with the first financial aid disbursement set for July 9 and the summer loan request deadline on July 10.

Student services and support

Academic counseling is available on a drop-in basis from June 22 through July 17, with regular appointment scheduling resuming July 20. The Mental Health & Wellness Center operates weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and crisis walk-in hours run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Students experiencing financial strain can apply for emergency aid through the Lancer Care Center, and the Lancer Pantry offers free food to enrolled students, as reported by Pasadena Now.

Canvas restored with MFA required

According to Pasadena City College system updates, PCC temporarily took Canvas offline after a security incident on May 7. Access has since been restored, but logins now require multi-factor authentication for users both on and off campus. The college says it followed guidance from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and the CCC Security Center while reconnecting third-party applications.

Summer classes wrap up on Aug. 14, and the fall semester is scheduled to begin Aug. 24, 2026. Students who need help with registration or financial aid can use PCC’s summer guide or visit the college’s help centers for in-person assistance.
