An 85-year-old Odenton woman was killed Monday in a violent head-on collision on Piney Orchard Parkway near Ransom Drive, authorities said. Two SUVs smashed into each other on the curving stretch, drawing a major response from emergency crews. The two drivers were rushed to local hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Police identified the victim as 85-year-old Amelia Knuckey, who was riding as a passenger in a Hyundai Tucson and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WBAL-TV 11. The outlet reports that a Lexus RX350 failed to negotiate a curve, drifted out of its lane, and slammed into the Tucson head-on. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, WBAL reports.
