According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Hurst officers were dispatched to the 200 block of northbound Loop 820 at about 3:45 a.m. after 911 callers reported the fiery crash. The car struck the embankment and ignited, leaving the wreck heavily damaged. Authorities told the newspaper that the investigation into what caused the wreck is ongoing.
CBS News Texas reported that the department said the vehicle's license plate was destroyed by the heat, and the vehicle identification number could not be accessed, complicating efforts to identify the victims. CBS noted officers arrived after the fire was put out and that officials had not released further details as detectives processed the scene.
One of Several Deadly Freeway Crashes Overnight

Hurst police asked anyone with information or video related to the Loop 820 crash to contact investigators, CBS News Texas reported. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will handle identification and release names after family notification, in keeping with its policy, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.
