Rainey Street, meet your morning self. Bar Fino, one of the block’s after-dark anchors, has quietly pulled part of the party into the daylight by expanding into the bungalow next door and handing the keys over to Fleet Coffee Roasters and taco truck La Santa Barbacha for mornings and middays. The three concepts are sealing the deal with a grand-opening bash on Saturday, turning what was mostly a night-only stretch into an all-day hangout.
Who's moving in
Bar Fino has pushed into the neighboring 88 1/2 Rainey Street space, which now hosts Fleet and La Santa. The move gives Fleet its fourth Austin spot and La Santa its third, according to CultureMap Austin. The setup links Bar Fino’s late-night cocktail service with early coffee and daylight tacos, and it follows the Landaverde sisters’ win as Chef of the Year at CultureMap’s 2026 Tastemaker Awards. Put together, the trio offers Rainey something it has not really had on this block before: a reason to show up from sunup to last call.
Fleet's downtown setup
Fleet Coffee Roasters lists the new outpost at 88 Rainey St and shows morning hours there, positioning the counter to catch early foot traffic before Bar Fino opens its doors for cocktails. Fleet’s site also names La Santa Barbacha and Rockman Coffee + Bakeshop as partners, supporting reports that Rockman will handle the pastry side. On paper, Fleet’s downtown listing casts the operation as a daytime counterpart to Bar Fino’s nighttime program.
Menus, giveaways and a PR quote
As detailed by CultureMap Austin, Fleet’s Rainey menu is rolling out with a couple of location-only specials, including a Key Lime Pie Latte and a Matcha Mojito. La Santa is turning out tacos, barbacoa, breakfast burritos and a new barbacoa bowl. For the grand opening, Fleet plans to hand out 50 Key Lime Pie Lattes and La Santa 100 migas tacos. Espresso martinis and carajillos will ring in at $11 from 1 to 4 p.m., and the first 88 guests will score free merch. “We’ve always believed great hospitality doesn’t have to begin at happy hour,” Fleet founder Patrick Pierce said in a press release, calling the collaboration “a true all-day destination.”
Bar Fino hours and what's next
Bar Fino lists its address as 88 1/2 Rainey Street and posts current bar and kitchen hours on its site, with later-night service aimed at cocktails and a weekend-focused kitchen schedule. The bar is closed on Monday and Tuesday, then opens midweek and stays open later on weekends, while the kitchen keeps weekend service and evening hours during the week. The new daytime vendors next door effectively widen the window for when people have a reason to show up on the property.
Rainey Street in context
Rainey Street’s reputation has long rested on its bungalow bars and nightlife, and the arrival of a roaster plus a high-profile taco operation is the latest sign that the strip is easing toward full-day use. The Rainey Street Historic District's history traces the area’s evolution, and this all-day pairing on one of its most visible blocks pushes that slow shift a bit further. Whether this convinces more locals to stroll Rainey in the morning or simply broadens the tourist mix is one question the partnership has yet to answer.
