Country Rising Festival has pulled the plug on its Cleveland stop, scrapping the one-day event that was scheduled for today at ForeFront Field in Avon. Organizers told ticket buyers they will be contacted with information about refunds and next steps.
Organizers point to permit and public-safety approvals
On the festival’s Cleveland event page, Country Rising said the decision “came after conversations with local stakeholders and public safety partners” and that “the approvals necessary to safely produce the event would not be in place within the required timeframe.” The festival added that all ticket purchasers will receive communication about available options, including refunds, in its Cleveland event update.
Local reporting confirmed the notice
Cleveland 19 reported yesterday that the festival announced the cancellation via social media, repeating the organizers’ explanation that safety approvals could not be secured in time. The outlet noted that organizers again pointed to those conversations with public-safety partners as the reason for pulling the date.
Where it was supposed to play and who was behind it
The Cleveland stop was slated for ForeFront Field in Avon, the ballpark at 2009 Baseball Boulevard that hosts minor-league baseball and outdoor concerts. The venue’s event slate, including festivals and live shows, is listed on AXS. The Country Rising series is presented by Social House Entertainment and has listed headliners including BigXthaPlug and Ernest on its Cleveland lineup, with the producer credit included on the festival’s Cleveland lineup details.
What ticket holders should expect
Organizers said ticket purchasers will receive direct emails outlining refund information and next steps, while buyers who used third-party resale marketplaces are being told to check with their vendor for options. Cleveland 19 also highlighted the festival’s statement about the timing of safety approvals and the decision to cancel.
The company behind Country Rising also produces the Tacos & Tequila festival, which remains listed for ForeFront Field the following day, underscoring just how packed the venue’s summer calendar is, according to the Lake Erie Crushers.
